Maria Rigoli

Principal and Founder of Rigoli Lawyers

Maria is an award-winning lawyer and the Principal of Rigoli Lawyers. She brings more than 30 years of experience to the team and specialises in complex family law disputes. She is proud to have created a firm that has the best interests of clients in mind. Bringing together a team of legal experts who really care, comfort and advise clients in what can be a vulnerable and emotional time in their lives.


Maria is a Family Law Specialist, who has been accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria. In 2016 she won the Law Institute Victoria Suburban Lawyer of the Year Award and was a finalist for Regional/Suburban Lawyer of the Year for the 2020 Australian Law Awards.


Maria’s qualifications and memberships include:

Family law

Family law case where the husband was bankrupt and his trustee in bankruptcy was claiming the property owned by him which would have left the wife with nothing. The wife had nothing to do with his debts that were run up as a result of gambling. Acting for the wife Maria was able to secure a good property settlement first and then the trustee in bankruptcy was only able to claim and take the husband’s smaller percentage out of the family law division made by the Family Court.


Family law case where there are complex business structures requiring untangling of information and subpoena of documents and information not disclosed by the other spouse.

Spousal maintenance

Spousal maintenance cases where the client does not have funds to start the family law case and cannot support herself/himself on current income but the other spouse has a high income.

Gurpreet has experience from her previous firm in Sydney in a range of legal areas, and now is practicing exclusively in family law. Her background allows her to be in her clients shoes, and relate to their situation, whilst providing sound legal advice.

Chrisoulla is experienced in a range of family law matters including domestic violence, intervention orders, child parenting disputes and property disputes. Chrisoulla also has a background in civil litigation which assists her family law practice and helping her clients understand other legal processes related to family law

Sarom is an experienced paralegal and works in our family law litigation support team. She has a keen eye for detail and is responsive to client communications when our family lawyers are in court or unavailable to take client calls.

Alexsandra is the first port of call for all your legal enquires, and can discuss with you which lawyer is best suited to your needs. Alexsandra comes from a wealth of retail and customer service experience, and now managers our office administration.
